This Privacy Policy describes how ContractorDraft, operated by Dalton Haglund ("we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, and shares information when you use contractordraft.com (the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

• Name and email address (when you create an account)
• Business information entered into proposal forms (business name, license number, phone, email)
• Company logo images you upload to the Service
• Billing and payment information (processed by Stripe — we never store your card number)

Client and third-party data entered by users

When you use the Service to generate proposals, you may enter personal information about your clients, including names, addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses. This information is stored on our servers to generate and display your proposals. We process this data on your behalf as a data processor. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to share your clients' information with third-party services as described in this policy, and for directing us to delete it upon request.

Electronic signature data

When a client accepts or declines a proposal or change order using the signing feature, we collect and store their typed name, the date and time of the action, and their IP address. This information is stored as part of the signed record and is visible to you as the account holder.

Information collected automatically

When you use the Service, we may automatically collect device and usage information such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, and pages visited. This is used to maintain security and improve the Service.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and operate the Service
• To process payments and manage your subscription
• To generate contractor proposals using AI (your form data is sent to OpenAI's API)
• To respond to support requests
• To comply with legal obligations
• To improve the Service based on usage patterns

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the following service providers who process it on our behalf:

• Clerk — user authentication (privacy policy)
• Neon — data storage (privacy policy)
• Stripe — payment processing (privacy policy)
• OpenAI — AI proposal generation (privacy policy)
• Vercel — website hosting (privacy policy)

We may also disclose your information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users or the public.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account information and proposals for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will remove your data from active systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

5. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including HTTPS encryption, secure authentication via Clerk, and server-side-only database access. Payment information is handled entirely by Stripe and never stored on our servers.

6. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, contact us at support.contractordraft@proton.me.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal information:

• California residents (CCPA): You have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion of your data, and opt out of any sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
• EEA/UK residents (GDPR): You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or port your personal data, and to object to processing. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
• All users: You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time.

The Service uses cookies strictly necessary for authentication and session management (via Clerk). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
